40 years of experience
Scotsdale's master joiner Scott Perry has over forty years of experience in wood craftsmanship, ensuring every hut is perfected to your needs with his unique, traditional style.
Scott moved to Scotland almost by accident, as he fell in love with the "Big Tree Country" while working to restore window panels at Castle Menzies. Based in Dunkeld, Scotsdale was born when Scott and Dale Golder met, together they created Scotsdale Huts with the aim of sharing the beauty of Scottish Wood in a form you can enjoy every day.
Working on the restoration and design of various stunning projects and gained invaluable experience from his work with antique furniture as a specialist restorer. Throughout his career, Scott has been involved with projects ranging from narrowboats and castles to kitchen accessories. Scott is happiest when designing and working with windfallen trees, giving them a new life.
Scotsdale creations are uniquely crafted from windfallen wood we source from estates in Perthshire, mill and dry ourselves. We are proud to say that no wood is imported; all trees are sourced locally in Scotland*, such as our oak which comes from Glamis Castle, *there is one exception, we use cedar from Downton Abbey, England.
In addition to Shepherd Huts and Garden rooms, we enjoy building bespoke gyms, offices, log stores, garages, playhouses, tree-houses... We can work with you on whatever it is you have in mind. Challenge us, you will be delighted by the results.
